Without a doubt the coolest new thing we found this year was at the
little garden show down the road a piece in Martinsville. You can read more
about the 2009 Garden
Shows HERE.
There were many delightful selections at the garden show but by far, the
cutest new thing was the 'Tea Cup On A Stick". The display
included many delicate china cups and saucers screwed onto a stick.
They are garden decor with a bit of whimsy. When I saw these darling
garden ornaments I immediately thought of my dear friend Leslie and her tea
cup and china collections. She makes me smile so this blog is
dedicated to her.
The honey immediately determined that he could do the same thing with his
drill press and the diamond bit he uses to make the lighted glass blocks for
Christmas gifts.
Ohhh Kaaay say I. What I really wanted was one of the ones already
done up and painted and so nicely displayed.
I didn't really want another project.
Around
noon the next day I'm minding my own business trying to figure out how to
use a chain saw incompetent
gardener.htm when around the up-top-out-back comes HE. He was
bubbling with excitement. He had attached a tea cup and saucer to a
dowel rod and now I was to have my very own just like the ones at the show!
I tried desperately to keep my composure as I complimented his work.
I asked how many teacups he had broken before he got it right. Not
more than six or seven.
I blanched anemic white quickly followed I am sure by beet red. He had
broken 'no more' than whatever of my Haviland China!!!!
Yep he did he surely did.
I complimented him as nicely as I could without bursting out bawling. I
quickly found some other more suitable cups for him to drill holes into.
The cup in the front closest to the Angel is the Haviland. The one
further back has some arugala growing in it.
Totally the coolest new thing at the garden shows this year!
From Leslie:
In some spiritual prose, the name 'Sophia' has
been offered when referring to the feminine expression of God.
